Hi,

I am an admirer of your writing, and wander through every few months. Your insights are delightful, articulate, and a pleasure to read. However, your link to this story is mystifying. If you read the entry, the blurb "Immediate Release by AP*" has an asterisk on it, with the clarification "a punto", which I don't think is the Associated Press, as suggested by your "(From AP, via Tigers Tango)". I don't have access to the wire, so I cannot check. I am also suspicious of her label "ficciones", which sounds to me like "fiction", but my Spanish is really rudimentary. Suspecting a bit about your background, this seems like a bit of an editorial lapse. However, if you have already been through this, never mind.

You are right! It's a hoax.

BTW, Ficciones is the name of a Jorge Luis Borges collection of short stories.

John Barth says of the author that he "engages the heart as well as the intelligence."

This blog-ficcione does, too. It's not true, but believing it for a minute made the world seem brighter.

Here's a wish: that Tango Colorado will reap the effects of peace-dancing, that every time we dance, we make grow the peace in our own little war-torn corner of the world.
